OUR LATEST PARTNERSHIP

The Rural Coordination Centre of BC (RCCbc) has secured funding from Healthcare Excellence Canada (HEC) for a project focused on type 2 diabetes remission in rural communities. In collaboration with partners, IPTN and IHSTS, RCCbc aims to co-design patient-centered, team-based services using therapeutic nutrition approaches in Tumbler Ridge and Port Alberni. The initiative is part of the Strengthening Primary Care program, which is designed to improve access to safe, including culturally safe, team-based primary care closer to home. This funding is for the initial phase of the project which is based on broad community engagement, relationship-building, and learning from rural, remote, and Indigenous communities, running until September 2024.
